VWBPE 2022 asks educators to share their research and insights as we rise like a Phoenix out of the ashes of the past two years into the brave new future of virtual education.

Proposals are welcomed from all subject areas and virtual environments that support teaching and learning. Whether you work at the elementary, secondary, or post-secondary levels, or support community based programs – we want to hear from you!

The conference has many components, with opportunities for all to show the virtual world what they do best. Immersive Experiences and Exhibits are available before and after the three-day main event filled with presentations, demonstrations, and discussions – and of course, the social sessions.

Presentations

The deadline for Presentation proposals is 10 January 2022.

There are six presentation formats for VWBPE 2022: Spotlight Presentations, Hands on Technology Workshops, Compass Points Roundtable Discussions, Micro Burst presentation Clusters (no more than 15 minutes),Tool Talks (NEW), and Poster presentations (NEW).

About the NEW Formats

Tool Talks: The big ideas are often shared at conferences, but what about those “little” things that you cannot do without in your practice – be it a tool, technique, or technology? Share a short and engaging demonstration showing us why this idea is not to be missed.

Poster Presentations: Share your research in our new Posters venue, with time for both asynchronous exploration and scheduled synchronous presentation times during the conference. Students are strongly encouraged to share their current work with a poster presentation.

Immersive Experiences

The deadline for Immersive Experiences (and Exhibits) proposals is 14 February 2022.

Immersive Experiences take place during the 2 weeks before and after the main conference dates, from 13 March through 28 March 2022, and again from 03 April through 14 April 2022. This gives us an extended time to explore environments and truly immerse in the experience.

There will be an opportunity for video engagement to promote your Immersive Experience. Details will be given if your proposal is accepted.

There are so many places to explore in virtual environments, so many locations where teaching and learning are innovative and engaging.
