VWBPE 2026: Insights
MARCH 19-21, 2026Extend the Journey: Explore VWBPE 2026 Immersive Experiences
Go beyond presentations and step directly into immersive worlds designed to spark curiosity, exploration, and new insights into the future of learning.
Since 2015, one of the most unique aspects of the annual Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education Conference 2026 (VWBPE) has been the opportunity to move beyond presentations and experience immersive learning environments firsthand.
Inspired by this year’s conference theme, “Insights,” the Immersive Experiences were designed to give participants opportunities to step inside virtual environments where new perspectives on teaching, learning, collaboration, and creativity can emerge. By engaging directly with interactive spaces, attendees can gain insights not only into the technologies that power virtual worlds, but also into the ways immersive environments can transform how we explore ideas, communities, and possibilities for education.
Before and after the main conference dates (March 19–21, 2026), participants can take part in a series of Immersive Experiences (IEs)—guided explorations that invite you into virtual spaces designed for discovery, interaction, and experiential learning.
These sessions highlight the power of virtual worlds to create meaningful learning through exploration, simulation, and storytelling.
Pre-Conference Immersive Experiences
Space Tourism: Your Next Vacation
Saturday, 14 March @ 12:00pm SLT/PDT
What might tourism look like when humanity regularly travels beyond Earth? In this immersive experience, participants will explore a futuristic space tourism environment and consider how virtual worlds can be used to imagine—and teach about—the future of human exploration. Attendees will visit orbital destinations, learn about the possibilities of commercial space travel, and discuss how immersive environments can support STEM education and speculative design.
Wetlands Exploration & Animal Safari
Wednesday, 18 March @ 10:00am SLT/PDT
Step into a vibrant virtual ecosystem and experience environmental education through exploration. Participants will journey through wetlands habitats while observing wildlife and learning about ecological relationships. This immersive safari highlights how virtual environments can support environmental awareness, field-based learning, and interactive science education in ways that complement real-world study.
Post-Conference Immersive Experiences
Moon Base Selene: Lunar Space Elevator Hub!
Sunday, 22 March @ 9:00am SLT/PDT
Travel to the Moon and explore the ambitious vision of a lunar transportation hub. Participants will visit Moon Base Selene, a futuristic environment imagining how a space elevator and lunar infrastructure might support exploration and settlement beyond Earth. This experience demonstrates how immersive worlds can inspire learning about space science, engineering, and future technologies while encouraging creative thinking about humanity’s presence in space.
Exploring the Nonprofit Commons Community
Friday, 27 March @ 8:30am SLT/PDT
Discover one of the longest-standing collaborative nonprofit communities in virtual worlds. This immersive visit introduces participants to the Nonprofit Commons, a network of organizations that use virtual environments to support social good, education, and global collaboration. Attendees will explore community spaces, learn about ongoing projects, and see how immersive platforms foster partnerships among nonprofits, educators, and advocates.
Teaching Digital Citizenship Through Immersion
Tuesday, 31 March @ 9:00am SLT/PDT
Digital citizenship is more than a concept—it is a set of skills best learned through practice. In this immersive experience, participants will explore environments designed to help learners navigate online identity, ethics, safety, and community participation. Through interactive scenarios and discussion, attendees will see how immersive spaces can support meaningful conversations about responsible engagement in digital communities.
The Eyevolution of Eyemagination Therapy Eyeffect
Wednesday, 01 April @ 11:00am SLT/PDT
This unique experience explores how immersive environments can support therapeutic and personal development practices by bridging real world spaces and interaction through multidimensional media (AR). Participants will learn about the Eyemagination Therapy Eyeffect approach and how virtual worlds can create supportive spaces for guided visualization, reflection, and healing. The session highlights the expanding possibilities for immersive technology in wellness, counseling, and experiential learning contexts.
Experience Immersive Learning in Action
Immersive Experiences are designed to give participants the time and space to fully explore virtual environments. Whether traveling to the Moon, exploring wetlands ecosystems, or engaging with nonprofit communities, these sessions demonstrate how virtual worlds can support education, collaboration, and innovation.
Together, they reflect the spirit of this year’s conference 2026 theme, Insights — inviting participants not just to hear new ideas, but to step inside environments where fresh perspectives can emerge through experience, exploration, and shared discovery.
Bring your friends and colleagues along on this journey of discovery. The conversation begins before the conference and continues long after it ends — through immersive experiences that invite you to explore, reflect, and discover new insights together.
