Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education is a global grass-roots community event which focuses on education in immersive virtual environments. This open conference is organized by educators, for educators, to provide an opportunity to showcase the learning that takes place in this community of practice.

Innovative educators will be sharing their achievements and challenges that they face in enhanced learning technology as well as their vision of future collaborative learning in virtual worlds and games. Whether you are a career educator, interested in new developments in education or looking for great ideas to apply to your own areas of work, this is an exciting time and VWBPE can help you pick up on these new developments!

Conference Survey

If you attended the VWBPE 2013 Conference, we would love to hear your thoughts about the event. Please take a few moments and fill in this survey, so we can keep improving VWBPE every year. The survey will be available until August 17, 2013.

Post-Conference MOOC

Would you like to explore more virtual worlds? Perhaps you heard something at the Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education conference and would like to see how this might apply in your teaching and learning practice?

Consider participating in the 2013 VWBPE MOOC – Virtual Worlds Explorations. There are 2 levels:

1. Just the tours please.
2. Engaging in the MOOC discussions about the tours.

Each week there will be 1 or 2 tours to virtual world environments, hosted by the people who developed the virtual learning environments. We will start in AvayaAlive on Monday, July 29 and finishing the week of August 19 with a tour of Jokaydia Grid. Seven tours in all.

What do I do now?

Choose either:

  • MOOC Starting Course (for just the tours) or
