The Call for Proposals for VWBPE 2023 Uncommon Realities is now open.

The VWBPE 2023 conference will explore the concepts behind our Uncommon Realities. We can learn from each other’s perspectives in various ways:

• Visualizing challenges together
• Developing skills by working through alternatives
• Prototyping solutions
• Finding personal meaning through interpreting the results of our efforts

We face unparalleled challenges these days. By sharing our uncommon realities, we can tell each other our stories, show people our strengths, and inspire each other to embrace being different. We can explore a profusion of ideas we may never have thought of if not for our willingness to share and be seen.

VWBPE welcomes proposals from all subject areas and virtual environments that support formal and informal teaching and learning. Teachers, Students, Artists, and Developers – we want to hear from you! Come share your Uncommon Realities, whether you work with elementary, secondary, or post secondary levels, or support educators.

VWBPE 2023 welcomes the continuing collaborative partnership of our friends at vLanguages. Please be sure to indicate in your proposal if vLanguages is your community.

We are excited that the Tool Talks and Poster presentation formats continue for 2023.

Tool Talks: The big ideas are often shared at conferences. What about those little things that you can’t do without in your practice – a tool, technique or technology that has become an essential part of your professional life? Here is where you can share a short and engaging demonstration of how it can be useful to your colleagues.

Poster Presentations: Share your research in our new Posters venue, with time for both asynchronous exploration and scheduled presentation times during the conference – just like at an on-site conference. Students are strongly encouraged to share their current work with a poster presentation.

Details of the tracks and formats for Presentations, Exhibits, and Immersive Experiences are found in the Call for Proposals.

VWBPE 2023 Sponsors are encouraged to submit a Micro Burst presentation for a Sponsors Cluster during the conference. Refer to the Sponsorship Information for more details.

Accepted Immersive Experience submissions will be scheduled in the 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the conference. Check the Immersive Experiences Guidelines as you prepare to submit your proposal. There will be an opportunity for video engagement to promote your Immersive Experience. Details will be provided if your proposal is accepted.

The deadline for Presentation proposals is 09 January 2023.
The deadline for both Exhibits and Immersive Experiences proposals is 13 February 2023.
