It is a pleasure to welcome you all to the 17th Annual Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education Conference – Mythic Origins.

Keynotes

Dr. Nellie Deutsch will discuss how visual storytelling tools empower students to become not just consumers of knowledge, but creators of their own learning saga.

Wagner James Au will discuss his new book, Making a Metaverse That Matters, painting a sustainable and inspiring vision for virtual world educators and many myths that persist about the Metaverse.

Spotlight Presentations and Workshops

This year’s program showcases digital learning, focusing on gamification, student perspectives, exploration, and digital skills.

Highlights include avatar diversity, social VR, and mentor-led workshops.

Quadriviums

VWBPE featured discussion forums will tackle current trends in education today including Personalized Learning with AI; Immersive Learning Technology and Best Practices; and Essential Digital Skills for Living and Learning in the Age of Fake News and Unfettered Speech.

Above the Book

VWBPE featured interviews will include members from Linden Lab to discuss current technology trends.

We also catch up with past Thinkerer Award winner Renne Emiko Brock/Zinnia Zauber.

Immersive Experiences

Starting on March 9th and then continuing post-conference through to March 29th,
VWBPE’s Experiences track will introduce participants to harness sea myths for positive change, support U.N. sustainability goals, and navigate quests in virtual environments amongst many other topics.

Explorations include Greek water mythology, empathy through life experiences, rainforest conservation, interactive personal symbols, and a Nikola Tesla CrossWorld presentation.
