The VWBPE Social Committee invites you to join us at one (or both!) of two times, on Thursday, February 9, 2023 to join our networking and fundraising event – in our fishbowl!

In the Fishbowl
Kitchens are warm, welcoming places where all the best gossip happens. In this kitchen there sits a fishbowl on the table, and it has a great view. We invite you to come, dive in and hang out with us! Yes, there’s going to be a party in the fishbowl! Come as merfolk or your favorite sea creature. Maybe you have some beachwear tucked away in your inventory. If you prefer not to get “wet”, you can come as you are and dance on the rim!
Beware the cat eyeing those tasty mer, er, fish, or is that you I see swimming round and round? Maybe the cat is checking out your mer tail, but don’t worry – the cat can’t really get us as long as we stay in the bowl.
Your generous donations help VWBPE bring together education professionals who have cast their own fishing lines into virtual worlds and come back with new experiences to share. That continuing support means educators have a venue where they can meet, share their projects and ideas, and inspire each other to experiment with new techniques and ideas that help further the use of virtual environments in education.
DJ Coz Okelly will be our host with a delightful selection of dancing tunes. All donations for the VWBPE 2023 Uncommon Realities Conference are welcome. We’ve missed you and look forward to seeing you again!

Howdy folks, Bluebarker Lowtide here!
It seems as though the transition between the year 2022 to 2023 brings with it a new perspective and sense of being. We find ourselves looking in retrospect to the past year and all that was accomplished, and then we look forward to the future that stands before us. We make resolutions to better ourselves and set goals to do amazing new things. I hope this feeling of renewed excitement doesn’t leave us. I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday as the New Year brings us closer to realizing our dreams. We are truly lucky to have each other.
The new year echoes the song of Hope that we have that cannot die, that cannot waver in the face of challenges, however daunting. Together, we have grown and become something greater than we ever thought possible. From the ashes of the rising Phoenix is born a new world waiting to be explored, a new learning frontier in this year’s Uncommon Realities. A new journey is on the horizon as we become pioneers anew, beginning to take those brave first steps.
