VWBPE 2015 At The Crossroads Machinima Showcase
The VWBPE 2015 At The Crossroads Machinima Showcase will share innovative and creative productions designed for educational purposes and/or by students of all ages.
With this year’s submissions, we will stand at the crossroads, somewhere between traditional and nontraditional, formal and informal, real and virtual. Here, where our hands and minds are free to create and all forms of media intersect, filmmakers are challenging the conventions of artist expression. Through creative genius and contemporary technological tools, virtual visions take form as remarkable impressions of reality that inspire and amaze us. New destinations are waiting to be discovered, with more crossroads for learning where we can meet and share.
Once again, we will showcase the “best of the best” in machinima and animation. These cinematic and artistic films will be honored for both the stories that they tell as well as the production techniques which are used. They stand apart in their power to transform, educate, and inspire viewers of all ages and all cultures.
Accepted submissions will be available for viewing on a VWBPE 2015 Channel during the conference. Viewers will be invited to leave comments and discuss the machinimas with others during the conference.
Submission Process
All forms of machinima are accepted regardless of production date. You must own the rights to submit your film. Your submission must include the URL to your entry. If accepted, we must be able to link to your machinima from our website.
Each entry will be screened by 2-3 committee members for the different submission categories, production value, and creative use of machinima media. If accepted, you will be notified and your entry placed in the VWBPE 2015 At The CrossroadsMachinima Showcase.
Selected entries, in their entirety or in part, will be featured during the social event of the Showcase, to share, and enjoy, and learn from each other.
We applaud the effort and talents of educators and students in answering the challenge to find ways in which their crossroads create positive energy. We look forward to viewing your cutting-edge projects and films.

By submitting your work to VWBPE 2015 At The Crossroads Machinima Showcase, you are agreeing to the following:
- I am claiming that this is my own work and that I hold all necessary copyright or have the permission of the appropriate owners of copyright to incorporate portions of their work.
- I am the creator and author of the work submitted. In the event that my entry contains the work of other individuals or organizations (including any copyrighted photographs, musical compositions, etc.), I understand that it is my responsibility to
obtain any necessary permissions and/or licenses. - I have the necessary rights and/or permissions to use the visual elements in this entry.
- I have the necessary rights and/or permissions to use the audio in this entry. VWBPE 2015 will not check to make sure that you have cleared these materials at any point during the application process, nor will we be held responsible for any inclusion of uncleared materials in your film. It is the sole responsibility of the entity submitting the project to secure permission from the copyright holder of the material in question, whether it is music, stock footage, or any other elements that could violate an existing copyright.
Machinima films may be any length. They must be submitted by February 15, 2015 to be included in the Showcase. Projects may originate from anywhere in the world or virtual worlds.
