Final selection of the award recipient will be conducted by the VWBPE Organizational Committee by Sunday February 21st. The honoree will be announced at the conference closing ceremonies on March 12th.
This award recognizes an individual whose deeds and actions have shown consistent selfless service towards the promotion of learning, community, and educational practices, and who exemplifies the spirit of cooperative development within immersive environments. The award is for lifetime achievement rather than for a single contribution.
Since 2014, the Thinkerer Award has been presented in honor of the first recipient, Dr. Selby Evans, retired Professor of Psychology at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, widely known to many in virtual worlds as Thinkerer Melville.
