Imagine what you could accomplish if you were fearless, free of the bonds of the super-ego that rationalizes what we can and can’t accomplish. Our brains hold the potential which, driven by billions of neurons and trillions of connections, make possible any reality we wish to create for ourselves. What we do by way of releasing that energy is creative. It is empowering. It is stimulating. It is deliverance.
We are born to this. Our senses provide a cacophony of inputs including sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, temperature, pain, balance, proprioception, mind, body, and time. Our internal makeup is constantly changing throughout our lives as we are exposed to the myriad of connections that is our everyday experience.
Paramount are the connections we respond to during early childhood. Our capabilities are influenced, not only by what we are exposed to, but also by our physiological make-up. The physical structures of our brain and nervous system do not stop developing once we exit the womb.
It is one of the greatest gifts we can give as parents and educators
to connect positively with our children and the future they hold in our in trust.
As children, the structural, functional, and effective connectivity of the brain is extremely pliable. As we grow older, these connections become more rigid, helped along as our patterns of behavior are narrowed by the daily grind of living. The brain, however, never truly stops being able to adapt to new connections, new experiences, and new ideas.
Our ability to be fearless is not the same as that of a child. Our id is restrained by ego and mitigated by super-ego. We often forget that the child inside us still exists, wanting to be new and carefree and stopped by nothing but our parent’s anxious arms trying to keep us out of harm. Yet, even though we may forget our inner child sometimes, our inner child doesn’t forget us.
She is just beyond that next doorway, telling you it’s alright to reach out.
He is just beyond the next corner, telling you the only failure is a failure to try.
This is what we want of ourselves and of our educators: an approach to teaching and learning through an unbounded philosophy that can revolutionize how we grow, both as individuals and a society. In this unbounded philosophy, we are only limited by what we can imagine.
Be Fearless. Connect to your inner child and dream big.
In this conference, we want to focus on how immersive environments have extended the reach of educators to imagine a world without boundaries. To reach out beyond self-imposed constraints and open the doors to new ways of thinking, imagining, expression, and building.
We invite you to bring your best ideas. To reach out and connect with people, not because they are the same, but because they are different. To play in the maze of knowledge that everyone brings to the sandbox which is VWBPE.
Connect with us.
