People make connections happen. Infinite numbers of them are interacting, making possible relationships, projects, causes, and all manner of synergistic magic. Sometimes, it’s a process as natural as breathing.
Then, there are those connections that happen on the faith, blood, sweat, and tears of the people who create them. What they build is sometimes considered miraculous. Such is the case for architectural achievements: the magnitude of the impressions they make is so great, it humbles the beholder.
Architecture is the hand print of a dream. It begins in someone’s mind, but it is only born when a team of people come together to make it happen. Take the Sydney Opera House. Considered one of the greatest modern architectural designs, its construction is nothing short of extraordinary. Built upon the concept of a sphere, it is essentially a construction of “shells” taken from the same orb, somewhat like cutting sections of an orange. Begun as an idea in 1954, it took over 10,000 people to make the 1973 opening a reality.
No one can argue the symbolic elements of a circle. It is round, connected, continuous, and endless – like the connections we want to make. In this conference, we want to create structures of the mind born of singular connections.
We invite you to bring your best ideas. To reach out and connect with people, not because they are the same, but because they are different. To play in the maze of knowledge that everyone brings to the sandbox which is VWBPE.
