It’s time to start saving dates for this year’s social events at the Virtual Worlds Best Practices In Education (VWBPE 2022) Conference. Make sure you have your dance card ready, because there will be plenty of chances to fill it up!
Each year at VWBPE’s conferences, we meet with friends old and new to share discoveries and have fun together. Social events provide an informal environment to make connections with like-minded people from all over the world.
The conference kick-off happens on March 31, 2022. There will be classical music, snacks, and this year’s swag bag. Come chat with other conference attendees before the organizers say a few words to start the conference.
During the conference, make time to enjoy the social activities we’ve planned. Those dancing feet never get tired in Second Life, so bring your favorite shoes to dance to the tunes of three different DJs. Change into a pair of tennis shoes before you head out to visit the Space Menagerie or wander through the exhibits looking for phoenix eggs. After all that walking, rest and enjoy a special performance by Spirit Light Dance Company that is sure to uplift and inspire you.
If you are in between sessions feel free to come by the Social Spaceport and check out the freebies and the hunt prizes!
Please plan to join us at our social events for a break from running, er, teleporting, between all your sessions.
If you missed walking on the moon or taking a ride in the rocketship make sure to visit this year! It will be the last time you can ride through the Rings of Saturn!
Since this is the last year of our amazing science fiction build (many thanks to Helena Kiama for the Social Spaceport) stop by the Gallery 360. We’ve posted a collection of pictures from previous conferences. Can you find yourself?
We hope to see you at many of the conference social events and sessions. As the conference comes to a finish, we are treated to a live music performance from Bsukmet & Imniali, whose instrumental performance will lead us into the closing ceremonies of the conference.

Kick Off Event of VWBPE 2022

Time to socialize and network with friends, old and new! Be sure to find the retro rocket and pick up your swag bag. The swag bag has your teleport HUD, conference badge, schedule and other important conference information.

Out of This World Parade
Location: VWBPE Parade Start
The VWBPE Annual Parade is a great way to start our social events! This year our parade will start at the end of the space station dock and lead to the main social building. Be sure to get your parade flag, top hat, and Phoenix Rising T-shirt at the starting platform.

Music and Dancing with DJ Coz
Location: Social Spaceport
After the parade gather in the Social Spaceport for a Celestial Space Party with fabulous tunes and dancing with DJ Coz Okelly. Time to greet old friends and make new ones. Put on your rocket boots – I mean dancing shoes – and come join the fun!

Phoenix Egg Exhibit Hunt

Meet us on the social sim for an exclusive Phoenix Egg Hunt in the exhibits.After collecting your eggs head back to the Holo Lounge North in the main social building and turn them in for PRIZES!
Exhibitors, this would be a great time for you to be at your booth!

Pre-show Experience
Location: Rockcliffe University Auditorium
Time to dress up in your own unique and creative way for our special performance. AND it’s April Fools Day! So dig out some funky duds and come early to get a good seat for the immersive experience by Spirit Light Dance Company. Please be aware of lag on the sim and remove scripts and huds. Join us for bubbly, donuts and this fabulous show!

Menagerie \muh-NAJ-uh-ree\ noun. a collection of wild or foreign animals kept especially for exhibition.
When VWBPE moved into space two years ago, we collected animals from four very different biomes for you to visit, view, and enjoy. There is a very cute and furry prize waiting for you! (While quantities last!)
