As digital, immersive, and AI-mediated learning environments proliferate, engagement has become a dominant proxy for success—often measured through clicks, time-on-task, and participation metrics. This session examines whether such indicators meaningfully reflect learning, understanding, or growth. Moderators and participants will explore alternative ways of recognizing insight, transformation, and deep learning, and consider how current measurement practices may unintentionally shape pedagogy, design choices, and learner experience.
